Journalist Paolo Bargiggia says there is nothing concrete to suggest that Juventus are seriously considering a move for Tottenham midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg in January.

We at Spurs Web have relayed a whole host of reports from Italy over the last few weeks that have talked up the chances of Juventus making a move for Hojbjerg amidst the uncertainty over Paul Pogba’s future.

This includes a report by CalcioMercato a couple of weeks ago, which suggested that Massimiliano Allegri is keen on bolstering his midfield department in January and likes the profile of the Spurs star.

Meanwhile, Gazzetta dello Sport claimed last week that the Old Lady are convinced ‘from all points of view’ that the Dane would be the right fit and have even spoken to his representatives.

TMW asserted that ‘an attempt will be made’ by the Bianconeri for the 28-year-old in January.

Juventus are not close to making a move for Hojbjerg

However, Bargiggia has now poured cold water over suggestions that a move from Juve for Hojbjerg is imminent.

He told TV Play about the Serie A giant’s January plans: “If they were to do something we’re talking about a midfielder on loan. Among all the names circulating, including Højbjerg, there are no signs of an opening.

“You don’t take away certain players from other teams midway through the season. The teams, however, are not scraping the bottom of the barrel.”

Spurs Web Opinion

The one thing that appears certain at the moment is that Hojbjerg will leave Spurs in January as the Dane would want regular game time. Where he ends up is anybody’s guess and Tottenham will be hoping that there is a bidding war for his services in January.
