TOTTENHAM striker Darren Bent has opened talks with Sunderland, according to The Sun.
Talks were previously at a deadlock due to the fact that Spurs were looking to bring in Kenwyne Jones, who is valued at £18million as part of a cash-plus Darren Bent deal.
However, now a deal has said to have been agreed for Bent to move to the Stadium of Light for a £10million fee, with a club-record wage of around £45,000.
The transfer will represent a loss for Tottenham, who paid £16.5million for the England international in June 2007, but Harry Redknapp must sell before he can make big-money signings to strengthen his squad for the new campaign.
