Watford confirmed on transfer deadline day that they have terminated Danny Rose’s contract, just 12 months on from the former Tottenham man’s move to the club.
Rose’s 13-year spell at Spurs came to an end when his contract run out last summer, with the experienced star penning a two-year contract with Watford, who had just been promoted to the Premier League.
However, the former England international’s move to Vicarage Road did not go as planned as he made just nine appearances over the course of last season, playing his last match for the club in December before falling out of favour with Claudio Ranieri (Transfermarkt).
It was reported earlier this summer that despite being contracted at Watford, the left-back was training at Hotspur Way in an effort to get fit ahead of the new campaign (Watford Observer).
Rose is now on the lookout for a new club after Watford revealed on Wednesday that they had come to a mutual agreement with the 32-year-old to terminate his contract.

From 2014 to 2017, it is no exaggeration to say that Rose was on course to becoming the best left-back in the world.
I felt that he was better than Kyle Walker as not only was he an unbelievable athlete but he was technically second to none, which is why Pochettino even used him in midfield on occasions.
From the outside, it appeared as if Rose simply fell out of love with football and I would not be surprised if he hangs up his boots soon.
