Rumoured Tottenham target Kalvin Phillips has admitted that he wants to play regularly ahead of the European Championship next summer.
Phillips has struggled to win over Pep Guardiola since his switch to Manchester City last year and a number of outlets over the last couple of weeks have talked up the chances of Tottenham making a move for the midfielder in January.
Football Transfers claimed last week the 27-year-old has decided to leave the Premier League champions when the transfer window reopens, with Spurs said to be ‘really keen’ on landing the player.
90 min also confirmed Spurs’ interest in Phillips earlier this week but the outlet claimed that the player was also on the radars of Bayern Munich, Newcastle United and Aston Villa.
The Telegraph’s Matt Law even asserted on Wednesday that Spurs’ new technical director Johan Lange is a big fan of the former Leeds man and that he is now plotting a January move for him.
Kalvin Phillips opens up on his Man City future
Phillips has now given a big indication that he is open to a move by stating that he wants minutes under his belt ahead of the Euros.
He told The Telegraph following Englnad’s 3-1 win over Italy: “I want to be playing as much as possible but I haven’t done that for a year and a half.
“I always try to make sure I am ready for whatever comes. I want minutes, I want to go to the Euros. We will see what happens.”

There will likely be several Premier League sides vying for Phillips’ signature if he does become available.
Tottenham should stand a very good chance of convincing that 27-year-old to make the switch to N17, given the exciting project that the club have now embarked on under Postecoglou.
