Ian Wright says that while it is not ideal to see Tottenham doing well, he is delighted for Son Heung-min, admitting that the Spurs captain is one of his favourite players to watch.
Son has really stepped up following Harry Kane’s departure in the summer, with the South Korean scoring his eighth goal of the season at Selhurst Park on Friday as Tottenham came away with a well-deserved 2-1 victory.
It was another professional performance from Ange Postecoglou’s men, who kept their momentum going and maintained the two-point lead at the top of the table.
Son’s goal was very well constructed, with the Lilywhites pulling Palace out of shape, playing through them from back to front before substitute Brennan Johnson laid it on a plate for the forward to thrash home from close range.
Even Ian Wright is a fan of Spurs’ Heung-min Son
Wright described the goal as beautiful and added that he was pleased to see Son keep his goalscoring run going.
When asked about Tottenham’s second goal against the Eagles, the Arsenal legend told BBC’s Match of the Day: “It’s really good and bad to see at the same time, it’s beautiful play from Tottenham. Son is one of my favourite players, I’m delighted for him.”
Spurs Web Opinion
Son is showing every sign that he can give Erling Haaland a run for his money in the race for the Golden Boot this season, particularly given the number of chances that we create every game.
