According to a report in Fotospor (as translated by Sport Witness), Galatasaray manager Okan Buruk has lost patience with Tanguy Ndombele as the midfielder is still overweight, almost two months on from his summer switch.
Ndombele has started just one game since his loan switch to Galatasaray and has played a total of just 123 minutes across seven matches so far this season (Transfermarkt).
Buruk himself admitted a few weeks ago that the Frenchman am man is ‘not in the best shape’ and is still working his way up to full fitness (Yenicag Gazetesi).
Ndombele continues to be overweight out on loan
Fotospor have now shed light on Ndombele’s situation, stating that the midfielder’s weight problem has not been ‘resolved to the desired level’.
The report explains that the 26-year-old was overweight by 6kg and his body fat percentage was at 20 when he arrived in Istanbul, which is why the club’s dieticians wanted him to take action immediately.
However, it is revealed that Ndombele has only dropped 2kg and his body fat percentage has hardly changed so far, with his weight ‘continuing to be a problem’.
The publication adds that Buruk has ‘lost patience’ with the midfielder and is not happy with the player’s attitude and lack of professionalism.
This report comes just days after Turkish publication Star reported that Galatasaray could cut short Ndombele’s loan spell in January.
Spurs Web Opinion
No one would be surprised with this development as this is now a clear pattern with Ndombele. Tottenham have no choice but to sell him on the cheap or terminate his contract soon as it seems quite unlikely at the moment that Galatasaray would consider buying the player.
