According to the print edition of Gazzetta dello Sport (as relayed by Sport Witness), intermediaries have now begun work to find a formula for Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg to complete a move to Juventus in January.

The speculation linking Hojbjerg with a move to Juve has intensified over the last couple of weeks and the reports keep coming thick and fast on the matter.

A couple of days ago, we relayed a report from Calciomercato.it, which suggested that the Serie A giants would find a deal for the Tottenham man to be quite complicated.

It was explained that Juve might not want to speed up a considerable fee on a player of Hojbjerg’s age and also suggested that they could face intense competition from Atletico Madrid for the player’s signature.

Juventus working on a formula for Hojbjerg deal

Gazzetta have now said that while the Old Lady have identified many different midfield targets ahead of January, including Udinese’s Lazar Samardzic and Atletico Madrid’s Rodrigo De Paul, it is Hojbjerg who is at the top of their wishlist.

The report states that the 28-year-old is a ‘big favourite’ for Massimiliano Allegri’s men, who have already made contact over a deal.

The publication also backs up what we have heard from other sources on Tottenham’s valuation, claiming that the North London club want €30m (£26.1m) for the former Southampton man.

It looks like Hojbjerg’s representatives are extremely keen to ensure there is not a repeat of what happened in the summer when the deal to take the midfielder to Atletico fell through in the final stages. It appears they are not wasting any time in laying the groundwork to ensure that the 28-year-old can leave in January.
