Speaking on The Here We Go Podcast, Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Tottenham Hotspur are already searching the market for a new striker ahead of the next summer transfer window.
The well-renowned Italian journalist stated that ‘Tottenham are already looking at potential strikers for summer 2022’, although he did not name any potential options.
Romano also failed to comment on whether this potential signing would be a partner for Harry Kane or his replacement in North London.
Spurs did not delve into the market for a new striker in the 2021 summer transfer window, with Bryan Gil the only player signed who can be counted as a true attacking reinforcement.
Due to Carlos Vinicius heading back to Benfica after his loan spell ended, it may have come as a shock to many that a striker was not a priority for Spurs. Young Dane Scarlett is now the only other out-and-out striker at the club beyond Harry Kane.
However, if Romano is to be believed, it appears Tottenham are already looking for a man to fill the void next year.

It was a shock that a backup striker was not signed in the summer transfer window. You cannot question Dane Scarlett’s obvious ability but it may be forcing him in too soon.
If potential strikers are already being looked at, why wasn’t it a priority a few weeks ago? A strange one, for sure.
