Tottenham are likely to end their interest in Juventus midfielder Weston McKennie, having made the move to sign Brighton’s Yves Bissouma, according to TuttoJuve.

The 25-year-old is on the verge of moving to Spurs in a deal worth around £30 million with the finishing touches on the transfer being applied after completing a medical on Thursday (Evening Standard).

He is set to become the club’s third signing of the summer after the earlier acquisitions of Ivan Perisic and Fraser Forster on free transfers.

With Tottenham managing to add further depth to Antonio Conte’s central midfield options, it is likely to halt their pursuit of any other like-minded options on their list of targets, including Juventus’ McKennie.

The USA international is thought to have been on the radar of Spurs managing director Fabio Paratici, who initially brought him to the Bianconeri in 2020 (CalcioMercato).

Gazzetta dello Sport journalist Giovanni Albanese also claimed Spurs could move for him this summer, while Alasdair Gold revealed the American was above Bentancur on Paratici’s January wishlist.

And TuttoJuve report that Spurs’ acquisition of Bissouma will effectively end their chase for McKennie, who is likely to stay at Juventus heading into next season.

McKennie would have been a good option to bring in as he can add a different dynamic, but Spurs have managed to find that with Bissouma instead. Maybe Spurs will continue to keep tabs on the American, particularly if there are any outgoings in midfield later on this summer.
