Alasdair Gold has revealed on Football.London that Yves Bissouma has caught the eye of Ange Postecoglou and his coaching staff during the first week of pre-season training at Tottenham.
Gold explains that Ryan Mason and Matt Wells were already big fans of Bissouma, having been impressed by what they saw from the midfielder towards the end of last season.
It is alleged that the former Brighton man impressed when he returned from his ankle injury and displayed what he can do once he was freed from the shackles of Antonio Conte’s restrictive system.
Postecoglou likes what he has seen from Bissouma
The journalist adds that Postecoglou has liked what he has seen of Bissouma so far, with the 26-year-old said to have returned to Hotspur Way for pre-season in a ‘bubbly, happy and confident’ mood.
Gold asserts that the Mali international could fit into a number of different roles in the Australian’s three-man midfield, having played as a number six and as a number eight during his time at the Amex Stadium.
Spurs Web Opinion
I believe that Bissouma and Richarlison are almost going to be like new signings for Tottenham, having been held back in their first season at the club by a number of factors, including injuries and Conte’s defensive tactics. I expect both players to thrive under the new regime.
