Davinson Sanchez is set to leave Tottenham Hotspur in the current transfer window and the 27-year-old is ‘not short of interest’ when it comes to picking his next club.

Defending was not a strong point for Tottenham last season, but it was arguably Davinson Sanchez who endured the worst of it in the 2022/23 campaign.

The Colombian fell victim to vitriol from the Spurs supporters and was made a scapegoat for some of the biggest defeats.

It is well known that new Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou is keen to reinforce the centre-back position this summer (90 Min).

At the same time, the Australian is thought to be plotting the exit of a number of his existing players (Telegraph).

Sanchez is highly likely to be one of the players heading out of the door this summer. Reports have linked the 27-year-old with a range of clubs, including Spartak Moscow (Sport Express), PSV Eindhoven (Voetbal International), Villarreal (Relevo) and Galatasaray (Sporx).

Davinson Sanchez has plenty of options

Clearly, Sanchez will have no trouble finding a new club this summer, with a host of reputable European teams looking at him. And, according to journalist Ryan Taylor, who is cited by the Express, the defender will be completing his move in the near future.

Taylor said: “Davinson Sanchez expected to finalise Tottenham exit in coming weeks. Not short of interest.

“Host of European clubs including Real Betis, Strasbourg, Galatasaray, Spartak Moscow, Fenerbahce and Villarreal have held discussions. Fee mooted is £10m-£13m.”

Spurs Web Opinion

There is no doubt that Sanchez will leave the club this summer, now it’s just a case of Spurs finding the deal that works for them, and Sanchez himself picking the right destination.

If we can get a fee at the top end of that valuation, then that is a very good deal for a player who we are clearly desperate to get rid of.
