Former Tottenham Hotspur star Dimitar Berbatov has predicted the North London side will get the win over Liverpool when the two teams face each other on Saturday in the Premier League.

Speaking to BetFair, Berbatov, who spent two years at Tottenham before moving to Manchester United, believes Spurs have the tools to get the three points at home versus Jurgen Klopp’s team.

He said: “Spurs need to take chances and not let their guard down when or if they concede. I think they can get it done. Prediction 2-1.”

Berbatov thinks that Tottenham, who have been unable to win over Liverpool at home in the last six league fixtures, will finally be able to get one over the Merseyside outfit.

Berbatov is predicting a Tottenham Hotspur win

Coming into the fixture, both teams are on a good run, with Liverpool on a seven-game winning run in all competitions, scoring three goals in each of their last five matches.

As for Tottenham, while they have dropped a few points in the league, the Lilywhites are still unbeaten under Ange Postecoglou and have shown resilience in the last few games.

Spurs came from behind in the final minutes to get all three points against Sheffield United and equalised twice at the Emirates Stadium as the fixture ended in a 2-2 draw.

Son Heung-min and James Maddison have formed an impressive partnership up front for Tottenham and have not let the North London side feel the effects of Harry Kane’s departure so far.

However, Spurs have looked fragile at the back with Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven struggling to keep clean sheets despite playing very well.

Liverpool seem to be finding their groove once again under Klopp, but they are arguably not as effective as they were in previous seasons, having lost a ton of experience from their team this summer.

Tottenham have moved away from the defensive style synonymous with the likes of Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte, and Postecoglou has shown that he has the nous to go toe-to-toe with the top managers in the league.
