Dejan Kulusevski has revealed that his teammate Rodrigo Bentancur remains shockingly positive about his long-term injury blow after he ruptured his ACL against Leicester this week.

It has been seven days of injury woes for Antonio Conte and the Spurs squad, completely deflating the highs of that memorable 1-0 win over Man City last weekend.

Bentancur, Hugo Lloris, Yves Bissouma, and Ryan Sessegnon were all dealt long-term lay-offs this week, while Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg is suspended for the trip to AC Milan tomorrow evening.

Reports suggest that Bentancur will be out for 6-8 months with his injury (Guardian), while Bissouma required surgery on his ankle (Tottenham), and both Lloris and Sessegnon could be out for around six weeks or more (Telegraph and Football.London).

Despite Bentancur missing the rest of the campaign, with Spurs fighting in the race for the top four, as well as the FA Cup and the Champions League, the midfielder apparently remains in good spirits.

Kulusevski said (Football London): “Rodrigo is so strong on the pitch off the pitch as well. He’s so positive even after this. I’m so shocked how positive he is. He will come back stronger and I wish him all the best.

“He is a leader on the pitch and off the pitch and we are so sorry for him. Sometimes things like this happen and we have to support him.”

Spurs Web Opinion:

I think the thing I am most gutted about is the prospect of a positive FA Cup run, only to not have Tottenham’s strongest XI to play the final even if we get there. It always feels as though something goes badly wrong for Spurs just as the team is seeming to turn a corner.
