Heung-min Son is on his best goal-scoring run in a Tottenham shirt this season, with Sunday’s double at Bournemouth racking up his sixth and seventh goals in just four games, and BT Pundit Chris Sutton claims he’d sooner have the South Korean in his side than Manchester United’s Alexis Sanchez.
Sanchez has endured a slow start to life under Jose Mourinho following his much hyped move from Arsenal, cutting the familiar frustrated and isolated figure seen in his last weeks in north London.
However Son, on the other hand, has excelled while battling for his place this season, and salvaged a Tottenham performance that, before he moved central, was well below par.
And former Norwich and Blackburn hero Sutton would take him over the Chilean.”If I was a Premier League manager, I would take Son Heung-min over Alexis Sanchez every day of the week,”:Sutton wrote in his Daily Mail column.
“We talk about how influential Harry Kane is for Tottenham but Son is the next best thing. He has energised Mauricio Pochettino’s team.
He adds: “Everything he does is with a huge smile on his face. Contrast this with Sanchez, who often cuts a moody and sulky figure when he does not get his way.Think of the aggravation he gave Arsenal before his move to Manchester United. There is no such hassle with Son.”
He went on to say: “Pochettino has asked him to play in a number of different positions but he gives Spurs everything regardless.
“He is the model professional in every respect.”
