Our South Korean international star Heung Min Son made it seven goals in four games with a brace as we came back from 1-0 down to win 4-1 at Bournemouth on Sunday.
It took him to 18 for the season in all competitions and means he’s closing in on the 21-goals he stuck last term, and according to the club website that is something that hasn’t gone unnoticed among his team-mates.
“Sonny is an unbelievable player and it’s a joy to play in this team with so many quality players. It’s nice to see him scoring and he plays such a huge part in the team,”:said Dele, who scored our equaliser on the south coast.
Danny added: “Sonny is very under-rated. Goals aside, people don’t get to see his attitude on a day-to-day basis. He’s always bubbly whether or not he plays and he deserves all the plaudits.
“He’s now closing in on 20 goals again in all competitions and that’s something to be delighted with – we’re all delighted for him and long may it continue!”
Sonny’s first goal against Bournemouth wasn’t the cleanest of finishes as he connected with Dele’s cross on the volley, but his second one was up there wit the best as he rounded goalkeeper Asmir Begovic to finish superbly.
“I was speaking to him afterwards about his second goal,”:said Dele. “He had so much time to go through and you could see him looking at Erik – he had a lot of time to think about it and it can be tough, you can change your mind, but it was another calm and collected finish. He’s an amazing player and a big part of this team.”
