The Daily Mail have now played down Tottenham’s chances of snapping up Alessandro Bastoni, Milan Skriniar or Josko Gvardiol in the summer.
The report explains that the Inter Milan duo and the RB Leipzig star are on Spurs’ wishlist ahead of the summer transfer window, with Antonio Conte’s men expected to be in the market for two central defenders.
However, the publication states that all three deals will be ‘difficult to pull off’ for the Lilywhites.
This report comes on the back of an update by Gazzetta Dello Sport a couple of days ago which claimed that Inter are having some hiccups in their effort to tie Bastoni down to a new contract, with the 23-year-old’s current deal running until 2024.
The Italian publication stated that the Italy international is demanding a salary of around €5m-€5.5m (£4.4m-£4.8m) to sign on the dotted line but the Nerrazurri are only willing to offer him €4m (£3.5m) plus bonuses at the moment owing to their financial constraints.
Meanwhile, multiple sources over the last week have reported that Skriniar is expected to sign for Paris Saint-Germain when his contract at Inter runs out in June (Inter Live).

Gvardiol is evidently out of Tottenham’s reach as the Croat’s value has skyrocketed following his showing in the World Cup while Skriniar seems to be bound for PSG.
Bastoni is the only centre-back out of those who is a realistic target for Spurs and a move for the 23-year-old will depend on whether he pens a new contract with Inter over the coming months.
