TuttoMercatoWeb have claimed that Tottenham’s latest offer for Micky van de Ven has fallen short of Wolfsburg’s valuation.
On Monday, we relayed Fabrizio Romano’s update on Tottenham’s Van de Ven pursuit, with the journalist stating that the Lilywhites were ‘advancing’ in their talks with Wolfsburg for the Dutchman.
Romano added that the negotiations have been ‘really positive’ and that the two clubs were close to reaching an agreement.
Spurs’ opening offer falls short for Van de Ven
TMW have now asserted that Tottenham have submitted an opening proposal of €30m (£25.5m) to Wolfsburg for Van de Ven.
However, the publication adds that the offer is not deemed enough by the Bundesliga side, who are allegedly holding out for around €40m (£34m) for the 22-year-od.
The report states that Spurs are expected to launch another for the centre-back but it is explained that the North Londoners are also continuing to monitor other options.
TMW name Wolves’ Max Kilman and Bayer Leverkusen’s Piero Hincapie as two other centre-backs on Spurs’ radar, with the latter said to be valued at €25m- €30m (£21.3m-£25.5m).
Spurs Web Opinion
It is interesting to note that Hincapie appeared to be one of Tottenham’s top centre-back targets under Conte but seems to have now fallen well down the pecking order.
Perhaps the club’s recruitment team view the Ecuadorian as being a good fit for a back three but not as well equipped to play in a back four.
