I am still a firm believer that Tottenham missed out on one of their biggest possible signings in the summer transfer window.
Whilst I am over the moon with the incoming Tanguy Ndombele, Giovani Lo Celso, Ryan Sessegnon, and Jack Clarke, I feel as if Spurs could have pushed the boat out a little further.
Spurs only actually had a net spend of £71.8m this summer, which could drop even further if more players are sold before the window shuts (Sky Sports).
In a huge season for Spurs, I would have liked to see them break the £100m barrier.
It was reported at one stage in the summer that Pochettino was prepared to spend a hefty chunk of the Champions League prize money on James Maddison from Leicester (Daily Mail).
I was excited by this prospect from the moment I read it as I was a huge fan of the player both in the Championship and his first Premier League season.
The Daily Mail reported that Leicester wanted £60m for him in the summer, which I still see as a bargain in this current climate.
He is young, English, has proven he can play in the Premier League, a free-kick specialist, and will surely only get better. He is also the perfect Eriksen replacement in my eyes.
Maddison has already notched his first assist of the season for the Foxes. This goes along with his impressive seven goals and seven assists in his first-ever Prem campaign. He also racked up 14 goals and eight assists in his final Championship season for Norwich (Transfer Markt).
In my opinion, it is only a matter of time before other clubs start bidding for this man and his price shoots through the roof, so Spurs need to get a deal done quickly.
January please, Mr Levy.
