According to SkySources, Tottenham Hotspur are eyeing up a move for Ajax centre-back Davinson Sanchez, who could cost Spurs up to £35 million.
So far this Summer, Tottenham are yet to announce a single new signing, whereas most of Tottenham’s rivals have spent considerable amounts of time and money bringing in reinforcements.
However, according to SkySources, that may finally be about to change, as Spurs are reportedly mulling over a move for Colombian 21 year old Davinson Sanchez, who was named as Ajax’s player of the year for last season.
The defender, who’s won 2 caps already for the Colombian national team, scored an impressive 6 goals in 43 appearances during his breakthrough season for Ajax after signing from Atletico Nacional in Summer 2016.
According to The Mirror, the defender, who featured in Ajax’s Europa League final defeat to Manchester United, could cost Spurs up to £35 million, which would shatter the club’s record transfer fee, previously held by the acquisitions of Moussa Sissoko and Erik Lamela for £30 million.
Additionally, The Mirror even claims that Tottenham Chairman Daniel Levy is in Amsterdam right now as he attempts to ‘thrash out a deal’ for Sanchez.
We’ve had our hopes built up so many times now that the first signing was close to completion. Do you think Sanchez will be the one? Do you think it’s a wise move?
