Dutch reporter Rik Elfrink has revealed that PSV Eindhoven are expected to push for a late deal to sign Davinson Sanchez.

Over the course of the summer transfer window, Sanchez has been linked with the likes of Villarreal (Relevo), Galatasaray (Sporx), and Spartak Moscow (Sport Express), but with a little over 24 hours left until the window slams shut, it is far from certain where the Colombian will go.

Reports continue to suggest that the 27-year-old, who has one year left to run on his contract with Spurs, could be used by the North London club as a makeweight in the deal to sign Brennan Johnson from Nottingham Forest (The Times).

PSV now an option for Davinson Sanchez

Elfrink has now taken to social media to reveal that PSV enquired about Sanchez earlier this week but were put off by Tottenham’s asking price for the centre-back.

The journalist adds that the Eredivisie giants are keen on strengthening their backline before Friday night’s transfer deadline and are thus expected to ‘keep pushing’ for the former Ajax star.

Spurs Web Opinion

The only reason I can think of as to why Sanchez is still at Tottenham is that the Lilywhites feel there is a genuine chance of the Colombian being included in a deal to sign Johnson.

If Forest had not shown interest in the 27-year-old, I suspect Spurs would have already sold him to a club outside the Premier League.
