Birmingham City’s Jude Bellingham has completed his move to Bundesliga side, Borussia Dortmund for a fee in excess of £26million, according to Sky Sports

The 17-year-old was rumoured to have been monitored by the likes of Manchester United (The Telegraph)

However, the youngster has now followed in the footsteps of Jadon Sancho who left Manchester City in 2017 for just £7million to join Dortmund and become one of the most exciting talents in European football (Transfermarkt).

The report also claims Spurs put in a rather cheeky bid last year of just £1million for Bellingham, however, it was laughed off by Birmingham who are now set to receive a substantially larger fee  for the youngster.

The midfielder has played 40 times in the Championship for Blues and has netted on four occasions and provided three assists during those appearances (Transfermarkt).

Spurs Web Opinion

I think Bellingham certainly had his heart set on a move to Dortmund and that is a credit to the example Sancho has set for the next generation. We have seen so many youngsters dwell in the reserves of the big clubs but Sancho has shown it is possible to move abroad and develop your game on a new level.

It is likely Bellingham will follow in Sancho’s steps in drastically improving his game at the German side over the course of the next few years and then be likely to move on for another huge move.
