Fabrizio Romano has given his ‘here we go’ seal of approval to Tottenham’s deal for James Maddison.
CBS Sports journalist Ben Jacobs also revealed that Tottenham Hotspur could reach a full agreement with Leicester City for James Maddison as early as today.
Tottenham’s announced their second capture of the summer (after Dejan Kulusevski) on Tuesday, with Guglielmo Vicario arriving from Empoli on a five-year contract.
It now appears like the Lilywhites are on the verge of completing their second signing of the window to fill another priority position, with multiple sources over the last 24 hours indicating that the club are close to striking a deal for Maddison.
Fabrizio Romano took to social media on Tuesday to state that a verbal agreement is in place between Spurs and Leicester on a £40m transfer fee, with only the final details expected to be sorted out between the two clubs.
Spurs could reach full Maddison agreement today
Meanwhile, Jacobs took to social media yesterday evening to suggest that a full agreement could be in place ‘as early as tomorrow’.
The journalist added that Ange Postecoglou’s men are now confident of getting a deal for the 26-year-old over the line.
Fabrizio Romano has since tweeted out his famous ‘here we go’ for the deal.
Spurs very confident of completing a deal for James Maddison. A full agreement could be in place as early as tomorrow.
As @FabrizioRomano reports, some work to do on the add-ons, but an agreement with #LCFC is really close.🦊 https://t.co/2fSbY8Ub1V

Spurs Web Opinion
We are seemingly on the verge of addressing two priority positions with the signings of Vicario and Maddison. If we can also strengthen at left centre-back with the acquisition of Edmond Taposoba before pre-season gets underway, that would represent an outstanding start to the transfer window.
