Reported Tottenham target Habib Diallo is in the process of leaving Metz, according to his teammate Mathieu Udol.

Diallo, who managed to score 12 goals in 26 Ligue 1 appearances last season (transfermarkt.com), was subject of an offer from Spurs during the January transfer window according to his agent (APS).

Reports have indicated that the Lilywhites could make another attempt to sign the striker ahead of transfer window closing (La Semaine).

The Senegalese international is reportedly valued at around £18million on the back of his impressive campaign at the Stade Saint-Symphorien.

Foot Mercato reported last month that Metz had all but given up hope of keeping hold of the 25-year-old and are planning for life without him next season.

Diallo featured for 30 minutes in Metz’s 1-0 defeat at home to Monaco on Saturday after coming on as a second-half substitute.

When asked about the centre-forward’s future after the defeat, Udol told Republicain Lorrain: “As long as Habib is there, we necessarily want to use him because we know everything he brought us last season. He came home on Sunday and brought what he can do.

“It is true that it is not necessarily easy to manage for the staff because Habib still needs to keep a certain pace even if he is in the process of leaving.”

Based on Udol’s statement as well as previous reports coming out of France, it does seem like Diallo’s departure from Metz is inevitable. However, it is unclear as of now where he will end up. We have previously been mentioned as the front-runners for the striker but recent speculation seems to suggest that we might have turned our attentions to the likes of Callum Wilson.
