Tottenham Hotspur breakthrough star Harry Winks is still only young himself, but that hasn’t stopped him tipping Oliver Skipp to go far in professional football.
Skipp has emerged as a fringe first team player so far this season, and earned his senior club debut against West Ham in the League Cup in October.
The midfield man has also appeared on the bench a number of times this campaign, including huge Champions League ties against Barcelona and PSV.
The 18-year-old impressed while with the club on its pre season tour of the United States in the summer, even playing against the mighty Barca while there.
With Luke Amos out for the remainder of the season with a knee injury, Oliver has skipped to the front of the queue when it comes to academy prospects this year.
Winks was in Skipp’s shoes not long ago, and believes the young man has the right mentality to go far.
Hamhigh report Winks said: “I think ‘Skippy’ is a great player and he is still young. I understand where he is coming from because I’ve been there and been at that age where I have been in and around the first-team.
“For him now it is all about staying positive, learning and just staying patient. He is a good player, we all know he is a good player and I think he has the right mentality to go far.”
