Tottenham Hotspur picked up all three points against Southampton last night, putting the bitter memories of the North London derby firmly behind them.
What made this win even sweeter was the fact it took the club back above Arsenal and Chelsea in the Premier League.
Spurs won the match 3-1 to reclaim the third place spot they lost at the weekend.
Goals from Harry Kane, Lucas Moura, and Heung Min Son helped Spurs achieve the much-needed win.
However, one of the shining moments of the match came from the bench rather than the back of the net, as Pochettino decided to hand young Oliver Skipp some minutes.
Already way out in front, it seemed the perfect scenario to gift the teenager some experience.
Pochettino has taken Skipp under his wing this season, as he seems to always aim to bring through at least one academy player per season.
Skipp will be hoping to follow in Harry Winks’ footsteps, and Pochettino believes he has a bright future.
Football London report Poch said: “With Oliver it’s only about time. If he is capable of working how he’s working and doing in the future the energy and he’s behaving now, I think his future will be bright.
“We were thinking in the last few months to give him the opportunity to play in the Premier League but for different things it wasn’t possible.
“I think he’s a player that we believe a lot in and I hope that he continues growing. For sure, he will be, I hope and wish, a great player for this club.”
