Alasdair Gold has revealed that Oliver Skipp had a real go at some of his teammates at half-time at St James’ Park.
While not many Spurs fans had expectations that the Lilywhites would get a result from Sunday’s clash, no one would have quite anticipated the horror show that unfolded.
The away side were all over the place defensively at the start of the game and amazingly found themselves 5-0 down with little over 20 minutes played.
Unsurprisingly, Cristian Stellini and the rest of Antonio Conte’s backroom staff have been asked to pack their bags following the result, with Ryan Mason taking charge of the side until the end of the season.
Gold has now revealed on his YouTube channel (starting at 47:30) that some heated words were exchanged in the changing room at half-time.
The journalist stated that ‘what surprised a few people’ is that Skipp was one of those players who was quite vocal in his criticism, with the 22-year-old alleged to have had a ‘proper pop’ at some players.
Gold suggested that it is evidence that the young midfielder is emerging as ‘big voice’ in the Tottenham dressing room.

This perhaps shows why the likes of Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte really took to Skipp, with the former even backing the midfielder to captain Tottenham one day.
