The Independent have provided an update on the appeal involving Fabio Paratici and Juventus in Italy this week as the Tottenham managing director of football seeks to have his worldwide ban revoked.
The hearing started at 1:30 pm on Wednesday 19th April and it consisted of almost three hours’ worth of evidence which was listened to by a panel at the CONI headquarters.
However, a council chamber was called and a decision will not be made until Thursday, at the earliest. In fact, it could reportedly take up to five days to come to a final decision. Gianluca Di Marzio suggested that a result could be heard today (Thursday).
Even when a decision is made, the panel does not actually have the power to change Paratici’s length of ban, but they can accept the sanctions, cancel them, or send the issue back to court.
CONI prosecutor general of sport Ugo Taucer apparently suggested that sending the issue to a new trial could be the most likely outcome.
He said: “I actually fear that there is an unfoundedness with respect to the points awarded to the team and there is a lack of reasons that should be evaluated in a new judgment.”
Spurs Web Opinion:
To be honest, I just want a completely fresh start with a new manager and a new director, with everyone on the same page from day one. I need my sanity back, and that will come from a long-term project with everyone pulling in the same direction.
