The Evening Standard have reported that Tottenham hold an option to purchase Dejan Kulusevski permanently for just £26m this summer, which is under what others have claimed.
Dejan Kulusevski joined on an 18-month loan from Juventus in January of 2022, and the loan deal was reported to include a number of purchase clauses for the North London club.
Football London reiterated this week that Spurs had an obligation to buy the Swede for £30.2m this summer had they qualified for the Champions League, but they retain an option to purchase him for the same amount. That is around £4m more than the figure reported by the Evening Standard.
Both publications confirmed that Tottenham are expected to trigger the clause, whatever the case.
This comes after some Italian outlets, including CalcioMercatoWeb, reported recently that Spurs were not expected to follow through on the signing after Kulusevski’s struggles on the pitch this season.
Spurs Web Opinion:
Normally, I would say it depends on the new manager and new sporting director. However, Kulusevski’s market value is now so far above £26m that you would bite Juventus’ hand off for that price either way. You’re talking about a £50m player for half price.
