According to 1000 Cuori Rossoblu, Arsenal are one of two clubs who are leading the race to sign Bologna left-back Aaron Hickey, who also is rumoured to be on Tottenham’s radar.
Hickey has been a revelation since leaving Hearts to join Bologna two years ago, with the full-back establishing himself as a mainstay in the Serie A club’s starting lineup this season.
The two-footed 19-year-old has demonstrated his versatility, featuring at left-back, left wing-back and right-back so far this season, having six goal contributions to his name this campaign (Transfermarkt).
90 min reported last month that Spurs are one of the sides to have expressed interest in the Scottish international ahead of the summer.
If 1000 Cuori Rossoblu’s latest update is to be believed, it is Tottenham’s north London rivals, Arsenal, along with Napoli, who are now the front-runners for Hickey’s signature.
The report claims that both clubs are prepared to make an offer of around €20m (£17m) for the teenager.
However, it is asserted that Bologna believe that Hickey could become one of the best left-backs in Europe and thus have no intention of letting him leave.
Spurs Web Opinion
Assuming Spurs are going to cash in on Reguilon and keep Sessegnon as one for the future, one would expect Conte to want to bring in a relatively established left wing-back, who would instantly improve our starting eleven, rather than another prospect for the future like Hickey.
