Relevo journalist Matteo Moretto has claimed that Atletico Madrid need to finalise a few departures before they can push ahead with a move for Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.
Hojbjerg has been heavily linked with a move to Atletico all summer, with multiple reports suggesting over recent weeks that the midfielder is expected to seal a switch to the La Liga side (Daily Mail).
The latest such update came from 90 min a couple of days ago, with the outlet claiming that Spurs are now looking to finalise Dane’s sale.
The report added that the Colchoneros are ready to pay £30m for Hojbjerg’s services and while Spurs initially demanded £40m for the player, the North London club might now be willing to lower their demands.
Atletico want to offload players before Hojbjerg deal
Moretto has now cast light on what is holding up Hojbjerg’s move to the Metropolitano Stadium, stating that Atletico are ‘waiting for some departures’ before finalising the Spurs star’s signing.
The journalist asserted that the Spanish side continue to remain keen on getting the deal for the 27-year-old over the line.
El tema Atlético-Højbjerg no ha cambiado. A la espera de salidas.

It now appears to be an open secret that this deal will go through before the transfer window slams shut.
It will be interesting to see who Spurs replace the Dane with as Conor Gallagher and Douglas Luiz appear to be too expensive while Franck Kessie is now seemingly on his way to Saudi Arabia.
