CalcioMercato have claimed that Tottenham Hotspur have expressed an interest in signing Gleison Bremer from Juventus.
Bremer has been one of the few shining lights in what has been a campaign to forget for Juventus, with the centre-back hitting the ground running after his €50m (£42.8m) switch to the Old Lady from Torino last summer.
However, CaclioMercato explain that given the financial difficulty that Juve find themselves in at the moment, they have to sell some of their prized assets to offset their losses and to make a move for their transfer targets.
Thus, it is said that no player is ‘untouchable in the face of monstrous offers’, including Bremer.
The report states that the Brazilian is happy at the Allianz Stadium and does not wish to leave this summer but he understands that he, just like the other players in the squad, is dispensable if the club have an opportunity to make a big profit.
Spurs have held talks with Bremer’s representatives
According to the outlet, several clubs around Europe have already held conversations with Bremer’s entourage, including Spurs and Atletico Madrid, who are both said to be keen on snapping up a centre-back who possesses the Juve star’s characteristics.
The report reveals that Manchester United and Chelsea have also sent scouts to Turin to run the rule over the 26-year-old this season.
Spurs Web Opinion
Given the big fee that Juve paid for Bremer last summer, they are unlikely to consider selling him for under £50m-£55m this summer.
There are better options out there for Tottenham for that sort of fee, such as Marc Guehi, who is younger than the Brazilian, has Premier League experience, and is homegrown.
