Louis Saha believes that Tottenham Hotspur could be the surprise package of the Premier League next season if things start clicking under Ange Postecoglou.
After Tottenham’s strategy of hiring ‘big-name’ managers who have won the biggest trophies in the game backfired, the club have decided to go a different route by appointing a manager who has a reputation for playing the kind of attacking, front-foot football that Spurs fans want to see.
While Postecoglou has made it clear that he will not abandon his principles of play, he insisted that his style of football is geared towards being successful rather than simply entertaining the supporters ( Football.London).
However, there is no doubt that the Australian will face the biggest challenge of his career so far in N17 as he will be going up against some of the best teams and managers in world football.
Saha tips his old club to be a surprise package
Saha, who spent a brief six-month spell at Tottenham in 2011, believes that the Lilywhites could surprise a few people next season if Harry Kane stays.
The pundit told Betfred (as relayed by The Metro): “Tottenham could be a surprise package, which is weird to say. They’ve had a change in manager, Harry Kane could still potentially stay and they’re a great club.
“But I would be surprised if they caught up on the better teams in the league next season. But who knows? There are too many contenders, to be honest.”

The one thing that is guaranteed is that the players will take some time to adapt to Postecoglou’s methods, having been accustomed to a safety-first approach for the first few years.
So, results might be up and down for the first half of the season.
It is important that the fans continue to back the process rather than getting on the team’s or the manager’s back.
