Central defence has been somewhat of an issue for Tottenham Hotspur this season with Jose Mourinho seemingly still unsure as to what his first-choice pairing is.
The likes of Toby Alderweireld, Eric Dier, Davinson Sanchez, Joe Rodon and Japhet Tanganga have all been used in the centre of defence at times this season.
However, what has remained consistent with the Lilywhites is their habit of committing mistakes, conceding chances and giving away goals at the back.
If agent Florin Manea is to be believed, Spurs moved early to secure a new centre-back ahead of the summer transfer window but have been turned down.
Manea claimed that his client, Juventus defender Radu Dragusin, turned down offers from Spurs, Crystal Palace, Newcastle and more. Dragusin was out of contract at the end of this season but has now penned a new deal with the Old Lady.
The 19-year-old apparently had no doubts about his future and wanted to remain in Italy with his current club.
Manea said (Tutto Juve): “We are very happy, we waited a while but it was worth it.
“Radu will have the opportunity to fight with the best in the world, he has a great desire to stay here and will work hard to become the starter in the future.
“I can confirm that we have been contacted by several European clubs. The player was wanted by Crystal Palace, Newcastle, Leipzig, Wolfsburg and also Tottenham, we presented the offers to the boy who, however, had no doubts and wanted to stay at Juventus.
“He grew up here, now they know him and he has adapted, Radu considers the club one of the top five teams in the world.”
