Football.London’s Alasdair Gold has revealed that Djed Spence is attracting interest from the Serie A but is not overly keen on moving to Italy.
Spence is one of the players that Spurs are reportedly looking to offload before the transfer window slams shut in a little over a week (Sky Sports Football Daily).
On Wednesday, Ben Jacobs explained on the Last Word on Spurs podcast that while Tottenham would prefer to sell the right-back permanently, they have only received loan offers for the player so far this summer.
He stated that the 23-year-old might have to drop down to the Championship this season, with Swansea, Leeds United and Bristol City alleged to have enquired about a temporary deal for the defender.
Djed Spence attracting interest from Italy
Gold has now said that apart from Championship sides, Spence is also wanted by clubs in the Serie A.
However, the journalist plays down the chance of the right-back making the move to Italy, stating that the former Middlesbrough man is ‘currently unsure’ about leaving the Premier League.
Spurs Web Opinion
It might be beneficial for Spence to drop down to the Championship as the right-back needs regular game time this season in order to get his career back on track. If he does well at a club like Leeds and helps them win promotion, plenty of top-flight sides will be interested in his services next summer.
