Sport have now indicated that the negotiations between Tottenham and Barcelona over Clement Lenglet have now ‘broken down’ as the defender edges closer to the move to Saudi Arabia.
The Athletic revealed on Monday evening that Lenglet is now close to joining a move to Saudi side Al Nassr, who have been after the Frenchman for ‘some time’.
The publication added that the 28-year-old now looks increasingly likely to link up with Cristiano Ronaldo and co at the Riyadh-based club.
Barcelona talks with Spurs have hit a roadblock
Sport have now claimed that Lenglet’s future is now at a ‘delicate moment’ as negotiations with Tottenham have now completely ‘broken down’.
It is alleged that even though the centre-back prefers to return to the North London club, a move to the Premier League side now appears to be ‘very complicated’.
The report adds that Al-Nassr are ready to €15m (£12.9m) for Lenglet, with the Catalan club now trying to convince the former Sevilla man to make the switch to the Saudi side.
Spurs Web Opinion
I would not be surprised if there are a couple of more twists and turns in the Lenglet transfer saga, with the player evidently wanting to move to Tottenham. It remains to be seen if Barca would be able to convince the centre-back to join Al-Nassr.
