90 min have claimed that Tottenham Hotspur are among the list of clubs interested in a move for Feyenoord centre-back Marcos Senesi.
Senesi has established himself as one of the best defenders in the Eredivisie since swapping his boyhood club San Lorenzo for Feyenoord in the summer of 2019.
The centre-back’s performances are alleged to have caught the eye of clubs across Europe, with 90 min revealing that several have sent scouts to Holland to watch him in action this season.
Spurs are said to be among the clubs eyeing the defender, who is also attracting interest from Aston Villa, Manchester United Leeds United and Newcastle United.
The report reveals that Tottenham’s London rivals West Ham are the latest to register an interest in the centre-back following injuries to both Angelo Ogbonna and Kurt Zouma.
In addition, Roma and Napoli are both thought to have enquired about Senesi while Barcelona are said to have expressed interest in the player earlier this year.
The report adds that Feyenoord have not given up hope of tying the central defender down to a new contract, with his current deal in Rotterdam running until the summer of 2023.
Spurs Web Opinion
A new central defender is likely to be a priority for Conte and Paratici next month. However, I am always skeptical about signing central defenders from the Eredivisie as the Premier League would pose completely different challenges. For every Jan Vertonghen, there have been multiple Daily Blind and Jairo Riedewald type failures.
