The Evening Standard have now claimed that Feyenoord could be set to demand compensation of over £12m for their head coach Arne Slot.

It was initially reported a couple of days ago that Tottenham would have to pay around £6m for Feyenoord to release Arne Slot (De Telegraaf).

However, The Daily Mail claimed on Wednesday that a deal might not be so easy for Spurs to agree on as the Eredivisie champions do not want to let their head coach leave.

The publication suggested that Feyenoord would only let the Dutchman leave De Kuip if Tottenham behave respectfully during the negotiations and agree to pay over £10m in compensation.

If The Evening Standard’s latest update is to be believed the Rotterdam-based club could now be set to demand more than £12m from the Lilywhites for the 44-year-old.

The outlet states that once Slot expresses his desire to leave Feyenoord, Tottenham are expected to make a formal approach for the Dutch coach.

We know that Daniel Levy does not like to be held to ransom, which is why I fear that these negotiations could drag on for another week or two if Feyenoord keeps upping their demands and making it difficult for Spurs.

Hopefully, the situation gets resolved once the 44-year-old makes it clear to his employers that he wants to join Tottenham.
