Feyenoord midfielder Orkuk Kokcu, who is rumoured to be on Tottenham’s radar, has admitted that he is ready to leave De Kuip if the right kind of offer arrives this summer.
Orkun Kokcu has been one of the standout players in the Eredivisie this season, having managed eight goals and three assists in the Dutch top flight, in addition to another five goal contributions in the Europa League (Transfermarkt).
The 22-year-old’s performances in the middle of the park have been a key reason why Feyenoord have won the title ahead of the more fancied Ajax and PSV Eindhoven this season.
Dutch outlet 1908.nl claimed a couple of weeks ago that Tottenham have ‘intensively scouted’ the Turkey international this season and suggested that the chances of him leaving Rotterdam were increasing by the day.
The report asserted that there had already been ‘initial contact’ for Kokcu, who was said to be valued at around €40m (£34.7m) by Feyenoord.
Despite Arne Slot’s decision to remain at the club, the midfielder has now refused to rule out the possibility of a summer transfer.
When asked about his future, Kokcu said (via Fabrizio Romano): “I’ve e good relationship with the manager — but in case a bid arrived from the right club, I want to make the next step in my career.”
Spurs Web Opinion
There might be a little bit of bad blood between Spurs and Feyenoord on the back of the way the Dutch club conducted themselves during talks over Arne Slot, with reports alleging that they demanded substantial compensation.
So, I am not sure Tottenham would be too keen to enter into negotiations with the Eredivisie champions for Kokcu this summer.
