90 min have revealed that Tottenham expect to have a new centre-back through the door before too long.
So far this transfer window, Spurs have made Dejan Kulusevski and Pedro Porro’s loan moves permanent while also securing the services of Guglielmo Vicario, James Maddison and Manor Solomon.
However, much to the frustration of the Tottenham fans, the club are yet to strengthen in central defence, which was a problem area of the team last season.
Ange Postecoglou admitted a couple of days ago that he had identified the centre-back area as a priority position to address soon after taking the job and insisted that the club are trying to strengthen the position ‘as quickly as possible’ (Football.London).
Tottenham expect new centre-back signing soon
90 min have now stated that the Australian will soon get his wish as Spurs ‘do not expect’ the centre-back saga to ‘go on for much longer’.
The publication explains Spurs remain locked in talks over deals for the likes of Edmond Tapsoba and Micky van de Ven, adding that the negotiations are now ‘nearing conclusion’.
Spurs Web Opinion
It has been reported for a month now that Tottenham are close to completing the Tapsoba and Van de Ven deals but nothing has materialised so far.
One would hope that a deal for one of the two is completed within the next few days so that the new signing can join the squad in Asia for pre-season.
