Fabrizio Romano has reported that Tottenham will continue to ‘do their best’ to give Ange Postecoglou the players he needs for the upcoming season (888 Sport).
The journalist claims that August will be important for Spurs in the Harry Kane deal, as a new striker will obviously be required if the England captain is sold to Bayern Munich.
Spurs still working on Tapsoba and Van de Ven
Romano also added that Spurs are still working on deals for Edmond Tapsoba and Micky Van de Ven, as they want to pick the ‘best centre-back for Postecoglou’.
The final line of his report reads: ‘Strap yourselves in, it could be a very busy month!’
Spurs have been linked to both Tapsoba and Van de Ven, although it has been suggested that the former is seen as a more readymade, albeit expensive, option (Football.London).
Spurs Web Opinion:
It baffles me that a central defender has not been signed yet. I do wonder whether Spurs are waiting to see whether Kane is sold so they know if they have a big budget for a more expensive defender. But either way, poor Postecoglou has his hands tied at the back at the moment.
