Dane Scarlett’s social media post after his goal against Shakhtar Donetsk has garnered a response from Tottenham target Alex Scott.
Scott is widely thought of as one of the best young talents in the EFL and most people would have expected the youngster to have been snapped up swiftly when the transfer window opened this summer.
However, with just weeks to go until the window slams shut, the midfielder appears no closer to leaving Ashton Gate Stadium.
The 19-year-old continues to be linked with a move to Tottenham, with journalist Ben Jacobs stating on Chris Cowlin’s YouTube channel a couple of weeks ago that the North London club are still keeping a close eye on the youngster’s situation.
Meanwhile, Bournemouth have reportedly had a £15m offer turned down for Scott (Sami Mokbel) while Wolves‘ £20m bid has also been sent back by Bristol City, who are allegedly holding out for £25m for the youngster (The Telegraph).
Tottenham may have an advantage over these clubs in the race for the youngster, who has admitted to being a boyhood Spurs fan (Guardian).
Alex Scott and Spurs’ Dane Scarlett are friendly
Scott has played alongside Scarlett for England Under-20s and when the striker took to Instagram after his goal against Shakhtar Donetsk, the midfielder commented: ‘Beautiful to see’.
Spurs Web Opinion
Seeing as no Premier League side have been willing to meet Bristol’s rumoured £25m valuation of Scott so far, perhaps the Championship club might be prepared to relax their demands a bit.
I would not be surprised if Tottenham put in a cheeky £20m offer for the player in the final week or two of the transfer window.
