A recent 16-year-old signing is making waves in the Tottenham academy, after recently firing Ireland into the semi-finals of the under-17 European Championship.
Troy Parrott signed a contract with Spurs in July 2018 and has already stepped up to make his under-23 debut.
Parrott took part in the 1-1 draw with Liverpool at the weekend alongside the likes of Marcus Edwards.
After going down to ten men, Tottenham’s official website described Parrott’s adapting play as ‘superb’.
The site read: ‘We re-organised into a 4-4-1 system with George Marsh dropping into centre-half alongside TJ Eyoma and Troy Parrott left to battle up front on his own. Both did their jobs superbly, as did the whole team.’
Parrott went on to provide the assist for Edwards’ levelling goal, almost repeating the trick in the 66th minute for a potential winner, but 1-1 was to be the final score.
Either way, the 16-year-old bedding himself into such a high age category with ease has got to be a good sign.
