Troy Parrott scored a late match-winner for Preston North End who overcame Norwich City 3-2 at Carrow Road on Saturday.
Parrott had struggled in front of goal heading into the clash against Norwich, having found the back of the net just once in 14 matches this season.
However, that was perhaps as much down to Preston themselves not clicking as an attacking unit, with the Championship side having managed just four league goals before their trip to East Anglia on Saturday.
Preston North End manager Ryan Lowe defended the on-loan Tottenham man last week, insisting that despite his barren run in front of goal, the 20-year-old was still doing plenty of positive things for the side, both on and off the ball (LancashireLive).
Parrott repaid his manager’s faith yesterday as the striker’s shot from a tight angle in the 80th minute took a deflection and beat Tim Krul at the near-post, to give Preston all three points.

It is worth remembering that Parrott also had a slow start to his spell at MK Dons last season but the floodgates opened for him in front of the goal after he got his first couple. The Tottenham man will be hoping that history repeats itself at Deepdale Stadium this campaign.
