Tottenham Hotspur youngster Troy Parrott has shared a post on his Instagram, revealing he is back in training with loan club Preston North End, after suffering an injury back in October.
The 20-year-old joined Championship side Preston in the summer on a season-long loan deal, but his campaign was cut short when he tore a tendon in his hamstring. He had made 15 appearances for Preston and scored two goals (Transfermarkt) before the injury.
Preston manager Ryan Lowe has been hopeful of having Parrott back to fitness after the World Cup, but is keen not to rush the recovery time of the striker (LancsLive). Lowe revealed Parrott is working with a specialist and is off his crutches, which are all positive signs.
It was hoped that Parrott could build on an impressive loan spell with MK Dons last season, where he scored ten goals and provided seven assists for the League One side (Transfermarkt). Things haven’t quite gone to plan for the Irishman this term, but that could all change when he’s over this injury.
That recovery could well be edging nearer and nearer, after the man himself shared a post on his social media which reveals he is back training and working towards getting back on the pitch for real.
Parrott shared a photo of himself on the training pitch at Preston, smiling and putting his thumbs up to the camera. The caption on the post reads: “Back on the pitch working hard to be back doing what I love.”
Spurs Web Opinion
It was such a shame to see Parrott’s progress hindered by this injury as he just looked to be getting into the swing of things at Preston. Hopefully, he can get back in the side in the New Year and have a good second half of the season before returning to Spurs and taking the next steps in his career with us.
