Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven have praised one another on social media after they helped Tottenham overcome Luton Town on Saturday.
The most pleasing thing about Spurs so far this season is the fact that they have shown that they are capable of winning in many different ways.
They faced a unique test at Kenilworth Road as they had to play an entire half of football with 10 men in front of a hostile crowd and were bombarded with long balls.
However, Spurs showed tremendous fighting spirit and came away with a deserved 1-0 win, with Van de Ven netting his first goal for Spurs after being set up by James Maddison.
Ange Postecoglou reserved special praise for his centre-backs after the game, speaking in glowing terms of the Dutchman’s physical attributes and Romero’s leadership qualities (Football.London).
Romero and Van de Ven are forming a Spurs bond
Tottenham’s centre-back pair have themselves talked very highly of one another following the hard-fought win.
Van de Ven shared an Instagram story with the caption: “What a CB this guy is” about Romero, to which the Spurs vice-captain replied with his own story saying: “You’re the best.”

One can tell based on the team’s body language on the pitch and the way they fight for each other that there is a real sense of togetherness in this squad. This exchange between Romero and Van de Ven is further evidence of the same.
