Tottenham Hotspur may have moved on since the sale of Gareth Bale to Real Madrid for £86m six years ago, but they have arguably never replaced him.

The Welsh winger was a one-of-a-kind talent in the Premier League and has gone on to win four Champions League trophies with his new club.

During his last two seasons with Spurs, Bale was an unstoppable force both down the wing and through the middle, hence why he caught the eye of the Spanish giants.

However, HITC now report that Spurs may have finally found their Bale replacement in 21-year-old Fiorentina wonderkid, Federico Chiesa.

The Sun reported earlier this year that Chiesa was at the top of Pochettino’s wishlist for the summer, despite the whopping £70m price tag.

These Bale links have been furthered by Fiorentina director Giancarlo Antognoni, who recently told the Telegrafi: “Chiesa has dribbling skills and quality, but also stamina, pace and power. He’s like a young Gareth Bale who drives you crazy and never gives in.”

Could this Italian starlet really be the next Bale, and could Spurs sign him?

Spurs Web Opinion:

Spurs have grown in recent years, but I think they are still some way off bidding £70m for 21-year-olds. There simply isn’t that kind of money in the club, otherwise they would have already secured the likes of Lo Celso and Ndombele. Who knows if this Chiesa could make it big at Spurs, but Fiorentina will have to dramatically drop the price if they want to sell him.
