Rio Ferdinand has revealed he was in awe of Tottenham Hotspur’s multi-million-pound training centre after visiting the grounds last week.
The former Manchester United centre-back spent some time at the facility in Enfield to chat with midfielder Dele Alli for an interview with BT Sport.
After his brief visit, the ex-England international said the Hotspur Way grounds were ‘unreal’ and ‘ridiculous’.
He said on Rio Ferdinand Presents FIVE: “I went to their training ground the other day. I did an interview with Dele Alli for BT.
“I interviewed him in the hotel on the site. It was like being at Soho Farmhouse. Unreal. It was ridiculous. The training ground is amazing in itself.”
The centre in North London has 15 grass pitches, including four dedicated to the Spurs first team, and one-and-a-half floodlit artificial pitches.
Spurs say the facility has been ‘designed with environmental protection and sustainability in mind’ and have therefore put eco-friendliness at the heart of the project.
The club has planted over 150 trees, thousands of plants and flowers and created a section of wetlands to encourage and enhance the ecological habitat in the area.
Spurs Web Opinion
The Spurs training centre is one of the best in the country and in the world, and the club certainly prides itself on that. It offers a world-class facility for players to train, but also doesn’t lose sight of the fact of keeping environmentally friendly.
