The Sun have revealed that Arsenal are also in the race for rumoured Tottenham target Marc Guehi, who is expected to be the subject of a major bidding war next summer.
Journalist Dean Jones wrote in his column for GiveMeSport last week that Guehi is one of several central defenders that Tottenham are tracking.
He explained that while Spurs remain admirers of the England international, they are aware that his price tag will be ‘sky-high’ and any offer for him is unlikely to be accepted by Crystal Palace at the moment.
Arsenal are also keen on Spurs target Marc Guehi
According to The Sun, Arsenal are also ‘huge admirers’ of the Palace star, with Mikel Arteta viewing the defender as part of his long-term plans.
The outlet states the Eagles are not likely to offload Guehi in January and that the Gunners are ‘willing and happy to wait’ as they expect an ‘auction’ for the player next summer.
The report asserts that Palace will demand a ‘huge fee’ for the 23-year-old and are relaxed about the situation as they expect ‘massive offers’ to come their way next summer.
Finally, the publication asserts that Chelsea and Man Utd could also make a move for Guehi, with the Blues having a right to match any bid that Palace accept for the Cobham graduate.
Spurs Web Opinion
Geuhi is undoubtedly the best young English defender at the moment and there is no doubt that he will be attracting plenty of interest ahead of next summer.
I would be surprised if Tottenham get involved in a bidding war as the 23-year-old could end up costing upwards of £60m or £70m if he keeps playing as well as he is.
