Tottenham academy coach, Sam Cox has raved about the work that Yaya Toure has done with the youngsters coming through the club’s ranks at Hotspur Way.
Toure is considered one of the Premier League’s modern greats, having won three Premier League titles during his time at the Etihad.
Since retiring from the game in 2020, he has spent time working towards his badges with QPR, Blackburn and the Welsh FA, and has also served as an assistant coach at Ukrainian side Olimpik Donetsk and Russian club Akhmat Grozny.
It emerged two weeks ago that the former City star landed a role with the Spurs academy as he continues to work towards his UEFA A-License.
It was revealed that the 38-year-old would be working with academy manager Dean Rastrick and head of youth coaching Chris Powell.
Cox, who himself came through the ranks at Spurs as a youngster, before going on to have a career in the lower leagues, has admitted the experiences Toure has shared with the young players has been invaluable for their development.
Here’s what the Spurs academy coach tweeted about the former midfielder:
Arguably the greatest midfielder to grace the Premier League. Brilliant to have the big man @YayaToure in at the training ground who gave such an honest & captivating insight into his career with our young players. A true legend of the game. 💙✨ pic.twitter.com/D7iNsdDVu5
