Don Hutchison has heard from former Tottenham boss Tim Sherwood that some of the Spurs players might be staying at the club’s training ground.
Tottenham are one of several Premier League clubs to have had a Covid-19 outbreak in their camp this month.
The first-team complex of the club’s training ground was closed down for a few days as a result and Spurs saw multiple fixtures being postponed.
The situation has now returned to normal at Tottenham but Hutchinson has now suggested the North London club may be taking measures to ensure that there is not a second outbreak among the playing squad.
The pundit revealed he had heard from Sherwood that some of Tottenham’s first-team players are currently staying at the Spurs lodge in Hotspur Way so they can remain in their own bubbles.
He also revealed that he heard Antonio Conte is working the players harder on the training field than they were previously.
The former Everton midfielder said on BBC’s Football Daily podcast (29/12/21): “I was speaking to Tim Sherwood and we were chatting.
“This isn’t confirmed. But he was telling me that they might be, because there are only so many facilities that have got hotels and chefs you can stay. Tottenham is one.
“He thinks some of the players might be staying at the training ground in their own little bubble.
“What he did say is that ‘Conte is training them’. I think he is good friends with Harry Kane – I think that’s what he is doing, he is working them harder.”

It would certainly make sense for Spurs to make use of their facilities and to ensure that the players stay in their own bio-bubble as much as possible. However, I doubt if it would be a long-term solution given that the players would want to return home to their families.
